IEWTO Spring 2017 Seminars

With Dai-Sifu Rainer Tausend

Sifu Rainer Tausend returned to Gloucester St on the weekend of April 22nd and 23rd for the Spring Seminars

Attendees at the Instructor Seminar

At the well-attended Instructor seminar on April 22nd Sifu Tausend stressed the importance of the flowing rather than posing.

After a quick check of the forms four hours flew by as we worked on push/pull and inner Wing Tsun.

In the end it was only running out of time that stopped the seminar and we all left looking forward to more on Sunday.

Sunday began with Sifu Tausend checking the forms while the Higher Grades picked up where they had left off on Saturday looking for push/pull in the 7th Chi Sao section before moving on to push/pull as a circle.

After the forms Sifu introduced the students to the theme for the day which was all about structure.

Correct structure can be used to both defend against an attack and to attack.

Students worked on using structure to shut down an attacker and get into a position to finish them off before the attack was fully launched.

After a 15 minute break Sifu's Tausend and Canavan took half an hour to test students for their grades before the traditional group photo.

So ended another excellent seminar. We'd like to thank Sif Tausend for his time and teaching and we look forward to his next visit.
